Three of the previous five days averaged 13 per day. We also crossed 700,000 cases today. Total Confirmed Cases: 703,277 Total Confirmed Deaths: 17,867 More people went into the hospital over the weekend. Thirty one more people were admitted and seven more went into the ICU. Mass Covid 19 update. Another day in the grind. Cases dipped down a little, to 1,591, and they did 65,137 tests, so the Positive Test Rate ticked up to 2.4%. Deaths dropped down from yesterday, to six. Total Confirmed Cases: 699,196 Total Confirmed Deaths: 17,857 Moderate increases in the hospitals. Florida now has 16,000 people in the hospital, so we're not doing that bad, but it's not good either. Compared to Massachusetts, adjusting for population, Florida has ten times as many people in the hospital as we do. Not adjusting for population, they have twenty eight times more people in the hospital.

Massachusetts New Covid Deaths per Week

Image
Interesting situation with the Covid deaths in Massachusetts. They haven't spiked nearly as much as the cases have, and that's a good thing. Deaths have ticked up four out of the past five weeks, but they're still at half the levels of April thru mid-May, and less than a quarter of the levels of late March. Hopefully it will stay this way. Illness is one thing. Deaths are to be avoided at all costs, so let's hope the moderate trends continue.

Re-did my Massachusetts New Covid Cases per Week graph. Things had gotten really good for a while, but it started to uptick seven weeks ago, and it's gotten steadily worse ever since. We're not as bad off as we were in the beginning of April, but the trends are not good.
