Mass Covid 19 update. Another crappy day, but at least the case count stabilized and stopped going up by 5,000 a day. We went from 10k cases per day to 15k cases per day to 21k cases per day in three days. Cases came in at 21,397, which is almost exactly the same as yesterday. They did 113,963 tests so the Positive Test Rate continued to skyrocked at 18.8%. Deaths were very high as well, at forty eight. Total Confirmed Cases: 1,055,108 Total Confirmed Deaths: 19,831 More grim news in the hospitals, with another 137 more people going into the hospital and five more going into the ICU. That brings the numbers up to 1,954 and 387, respectively.

Re-did my Massachusetts New Covid Deaths per Week chart and the results are grim. Between June and August we were averaging fewer than 20 deaths a week. The past two weeks we've averaged 205 deaths per week. That's pretty nasty.

Mass Covid 19 update. The nightmare continues. Cases shot up a lot again today, hitting 21,137, which is by far and away our record number of cases in a day. They did 119,292 tests, but that only made the Positive Test Rate jump skyward again, up to 17.7%. Deaths were slightly lower than the past two days, at thirty six. Re-did my Massachusetts New Covid Cases per Week chart and it shows what our situation has become. Just this past June we were under 300 cases a week. This past week we had over 56,000. That's crazy. Stay safe people. Wear a mask.

Cases hit a new all time high, at 15,163, and they did 91,971 tests so the Positive Test Rate shot all the way up to 16.5%. Shit is positively rampant right now. Be safe everyone. Deaths were very high too, at forty five. Total Confirmed Cases: 1,012,574 Total Confirmed Deaths: 19,747 Moderate news from the hospitals. Only four more people went into the hospital today, but eleven more went into the ICU. This brings those numbers up to 1,711 and 392, respectively.

Mass Covid 19 update. Nasty day today. Cases came in at 9,228, but they only did 70,320 tests, so the Positive Test Rate jumped all the way up to 13.1%. Ouch. Deaths were crazy, coming in at SIXTY THREE. Double ouch. Total Confirmed Cases: 997,411 Total Confirmed Deaths: 19,702 Looks like we're going to pass a million cases tomorrow. Not good. More bad news in the hospitals. Seventy one people went into the hospital and three went into the ICU. That brings those numbers up to 1,707 and 381, respectively.

Mass Covid 19 update. This is yesterday's report. Weird weekend. Cases were markedly lower, at 12,893 for the weekend, which is only about 4,300 per day, which is a lot lower than previous days. Testing is probably a big part of it, cause testing was suppressed over the Christmas holiday. They did a total of 110,502 tests, which is only 36,834 per day, which is a third of the usual levels. That jacked the Positive Test Rate up to 11.7%, which is nasty. Deaths were moderate, with 25 over the weekend, or only about eight per day. Total Confirmed Cases: 988,183 Total Confirmed Deaths: 19,639 More bad news in the hospitals today. Forty one more people went into the hospital and twenty went into the ICU. That brings those numbers up to 1,636 and 378, respectively.

In Massachusetts, since December 1, 2020, 9,056 people have died of Covid. Out of those 462 have been fully vaccinated. By those numbers you are TWENTY times more likely to die of Covid if you're unvaccinated.

Mass Covid 19 update. This is Friday's report. The record setting just keeps on going. We were up to 10,040 cases today, a thousand more than yesterday. Shit is just running wild. Amazing. They did 122,785 tests but the high number of cases kept the Positive Test Rate jacked up at 8.2%. Deaths were pretty high too, at thirty two. Total Confirmed Cases: 975,290 Total Confirmed Deaths: 19,614 Good news in the hospitals today, at least. Despite the record number of cases there were thirty seven people who got out of the hospital and four got out of the ICU. I'll take whatever good news I can get at this point. That brings those numbers down to 1,595 and 358 respectively.

Mass Covid 19 update. This is Thursday's report. Very very bad day today. We had another record high number of cases, at 9,042, which is up 1,200 from just yesterday. They did 112,065 tests, but the case numbers were so high that it maxed out the Positive Test Rate up to 8.1%. You got to go back to the bad old days of last December to get a rate higher than that. Deaths were very high too, at forty seven. Ouch. Total Confirmed Cases: 965,250 Total Confirmed Deaths: 19,582 Moderate action in the hospitals. Eleven more people went into the hospital and nine more went into the ICU. That brings those numbers up to 1,632 and 362, respectively. We had a huge burst of cases like this back last December and we had 2,428 in the hospital and 461 in the ICU back then, so we're doing somewhat better this time around.

Mass Covid 19 update. Been slacking on the reports. Work has been intense and I've been distracted. This is Tuesday's report. I'll do the rest of the week tonight so we'll be caught up by tomorrow. Really crappy day today. Deaths were unreal. Cases came in at 4,039, but they only did 63,250 tests, so the Positive Test Rate skyrocketed up to 6.4%. Mass Covid 19 update. Not the worst weekend, but the hospitals are still a problem. Cases came in at 11,078 for the weekend, or 3,693 per day, which isn't horrible given the current trends. The did 242,858 tests, so the Positive Test Rate stayed stable at 4.6%. Deaths were moderate, with 26 for the weekend, or about nine a day. We crossed the 900,000 cases mark today. Total Confirmed Cases: 907,743 Total Confirmed Deaths: 19,253 More lousy news in the hospitals. One hundred and seventeen people went into the hospital over the weekend, and twenty one more went into the ICU. Not good. That brings those numbers up to 1,355 and 287, respectively.

Deaths stayed very high, at twenty seven.
