Mass Covid 19 update - 3/17
Mass Covid 19 update.
Cases ticked up today, to 899, and they did four thousand fewer tests than yesterday, 54,409 to be exact, so the Positive Test Rate spiked up to 1.7%.
Deaths stayed moderate, at ten. The last five days we've averaged thirteen deaths a day, whereas the eighteen days before that we were averaging 47 deaths a day. So at least that's an improvement.
Total Confirmed Cases: 1,546,955
Total Confirmed Deaths: 18,926
Not much change in the hospitals today. One person got out of the hospital and two got out of the ICU. That brings those numbers down to 228 and 29, respectively. We haven't had fewer than thirty people in the ICU since July 23rd. The hospitalization crisis we were clearly in with 3,223 people in the hospital and 484 in the ICU was just two months ago. Things have improved dramatically over the past two months, and we should all be grateful for that.
